Nokia 51xx/61xx phone book entry format

The following is an example of a saved phone book file from a Nokia 6185. The file was extracted by using Wintesla, and saved to a file with a *.scm extention.

The format appears to have a '/=' for each possible phone book entry, whether it is occupied or not. There are 200 lines of '/=' where each entry represents one phone book entry.

The beginning of the file is denoted by ¯%¯SCM PHONE on the first line, immediately followed by the 200 phone book entries. The maximum number of characters allowed in the name field is 16.

Users of the Nokia 6185 have found that some firmware versions do not sort the phone book correctly alphabetically. The book will sort properly to the first few letters, and then it stops sorting. I would think that it is possible to edit this file so that all entries are arranged alphabetically, and this will resolve sorting issues.

Please let me know if this phone book format is valid for Nokia models other than the 6185.
